1979 Chiefs Police Football Cards
The 1979 Kansas City Chiefs Police set is one of the earliest NFL police sets. (The Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks also had police sets in 1979.) The Chiefs cards are larger than standard trading cards, at about 4 by 2 1/2 inches. The backs of the cards show that they were sponsored in part by Hardee's restaurants.
The ten-card set includes the first cards of Marv Levy, who coached the Chiefs for five seasons before going to the Buffalo Bills, and Art Still, who was elected to the Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1998.
