Interactive Team Cards
I like team cards because they usually include players who never appeared on cards of their own. Unfortunately, football teams are big and the images on the cards are small, so it is often difficult to pick out the individual players. To help with this problem I have created a number of "interactive" team cards, which allow you to identify the players by moving your cursor over the image.
A team card typically pictures the team from the prior season, but Topps sometimes used images from several years earlier. Topps often reused images, too. For example, the 1958 Cleveland Browns team photo appears on all of the Browns team cards from 1959 to 1963!
The 1956 Topps set was the first to include team cards. I have the 1956 cards and a handful of newer ones completed, and someday I hope to have identified the players on all of the team cards from 1956 to 1968. Click on the images below to see the cards I have done so far.
